Info and FAQs

Got questions? I’ve got answers…

During my sessions there are no rules, expectations or posing. I simply want to capture you with your favourite people, loving each other and doing the things you enjoy.

Things change, life continues and only the stories and memories will remain of our time together. I want to create images that show the real story of your family. Imagine having these photographs that beautifully capture your story, your memories and the connection you all share to look back on for years to come.

Family

Family sessions can be done at any time or any age, at home or an outdoor location. There will never be the perfect time to get photos done, so don’t wait for it.

Your kids don’t need to be perfect either. Embrace who they are and let them be kids, whether they are wild, quiet, silly or serious, whatever is true to them. I will follow their lead in my sessions, whether that means playing, cuddling or just being together. You don’t need to worry about your kids behaving for the camera or staying ‘posed’, their personality is what I’m there to capture.

You don’t need the perfect outfit, you don’t need to know how to stand, where to look or what to do with your hands. Letting yourselves relax into the session, being present with your family, and enjoying this time together, that is when the magic happens and we get the best and most meaningful photos.

Newborn

Newborn photos can be done anytime after the baby arrives. Some people like to do them within the first few days while others like to wait a few weeks or a few months. Whatever feels right for you.

I usually do newborn sessions at home during the day on a Monday or Tuesday. However we can definitely do a newborn session at other locations such as at the hospital, family home or an outdoor location.

My newborn sessions are baby-led which means we go with the flow and give baby time to feed, settle and sleep, however that looks on the day. I take a more documentary style approach (no posing babies here!). I love to capture a mix of family portraits as well as all those details which make up your memories of just how small and precious they were. The tiny hands holding yours, squishy cuddles, feeding (however that looks for your family), sibling love, and everything in between.

Maternity

Maternity sessions are the perfect way to capture your pregnancy and honour your body and the time it has spent growing your baby. It’s not just about the photos, it’s about being present and celebrating this chapter of your life.

These sessions offer a moment to pause and take time just for yourself. They can be solo or shared with a partner, children or even pets. An at-home maternity shoot is perfect for those who want a more intimate and relaxed experience. If you prefer the outdoors, nature adds its own layer of magic to this special time.

I usually recommend doing maternity photos anywhere between 30-36 weeks. Booking during this time gives us some flexibility if we need to reschedule our session for any reason. I do photograph bumps earlier than this and all the way until the birth, but keep in mind that early arrivals do happen! If baby decides to arrive before your maternity session, we can reschedule the photos for a different session such as newborn or family photos.

In Love

Love is unique and perfect as it is, and your story deserves to be celebrated in a way that is authentic to you. From engagements and anniversaries to elopements and small weddings, my goal is to tell your story honestly and tenderly, moments that will take you back to how it truly felt.

For weddings, right now I am focusing on smaller weddings and elopements with up to 6 hours of coverage - celebrations that are intentional, meaningful, and brimming with love. My husband and I eloped when we decided to get married, so I know firsthand how beautiful and meaningful these celebrations can be. My favourite weddings are the ones that let go of traditions that don’t fit and instead lean in to what feels right for them, embracing creativity, connection, and personality. But if you are planning something different, get in touch and we can see if we are the right fit for each other.

For those who choose connection over perfection, authenticity over trends, and moments that are raw and real.

Locations

Enjoy the comfort of your own home with a session at home. Not only will this give more flexibility with start times for your session as these can be done during the day, but it also helps children feel more relaxed and comfortable in their own environment.

Homes hold so many tiny stories we don’t even notice we will miss until kids grow up and we realise that it will never be the same. Mornings making breakfast together, building cubby houses, jumping on beds, endless giggles and dance parties. This is home and in the blink of an eye we will miss those days. Home gives you something you can’t recreate anywhere else.

Your house doesn’t need to be perfectly clean or be picture perfect either to shoot at home. I have 2 kids, so I get that mess happens. Your home is a reflection of you, so whatever that looks like at this stage in your life is worth capturing. If you don’t want to use your whole house, we can just use a small space in your house like a bed or couch next to a window, the bathroom, or the backyard as well. I focus more on your connection, not your surroundings.

At Home Sessions

Outdoor Sessions

If you or your kids love being outside and going on adventures, then an outdoor session is perfect for you.

Make the most of the beautiful landscapes we have in Canberra and show me your favourite place for an adventure or let me show you some of mine.

I usually do my outdoor sessions in the hour before sunset as this is when the light is the best. If you are concerned about sunset being too late, I have a few locations which work well for other times in the day. Sunrise sessions are also an option if you have early risers!

I often find that the excitement of being out after dinner and getting to do something fun together as a family means that kids are usually enjoying themselves during the session and aren’t too tired. Towards the end if they are getting tired this is the best time for getting some cuddly shots together.

You can find a list of my favourite outdoor locations here.

FAQs

1. Where are you located?

I am located in Canberra, Australia

2. How do I book a session

Send me an email or get in touch via my contact form so we can explore your story and plan an experience that’s just right for you.

3. How long is a session?

I have different packages to suit different sessions. The first is a 20 minute session which is perfect for small families, couples, motherhood. This is a quick ‘mini’ session designed to capture the season you are in. The second package is 1 hour coverage which suits for most sessions or anyone wanting a bit more time to capture your story. Get in touch to get a copy of my packages and pricing.

4. Do you have a list of preferred locations to use?

Yes you can find my outdoor location guide here. Once you have enquired, we can chat about what kind of setting best fits your family, whether that’s your home, a bush location, or your favourite adventure spot. I’ll help guide you based on what you want your photos to look and feel like.

5. Do you travel?

Yes I love exploring new places and would be delighted to come to your home. Travel within the Canberra region is included in my packages with a small travel fee for homes outside the area.

6. What is it rains on the session day?

I shoot outdoor sessions in any kind of weather. I will be in touch with you to discuss options if the weather doesn’t look good for your session and we can make the call on the session day about rescheduling the session if the rain has set in. We can reschedule the session to the next available date or we can shoot at sunrise or indoors if you are on holidays and the session needs to happen on the same day.

7. What if someone is sick?

If you or your little ones are sick on the day of the session, I will happily reschedule for another day. Same goes for me, if I’m not well I’ll let you know asap and we will find another date. I’ll never turn up to a session unwell, especially if you have a newborn. There is no fee to reschedule your session once. Multiple reschedules will incur a fee.

8. What should we wear?

My biggest tip is to be comfortable and true to yourself. If you prefer jeans and a tshirt over long flowy dresses then wear that. Play with complementary colour and textures which reflects your personality or your home. Pick one outfit and coordinate everyone else’s outfits around that one to avoid feeling too “matchy.”

9. Do you offer gift vouchers?

Yes! Gift vouchers make a beautiful present for new parents, mothers day or just because. You can purchase a voucher for any package to use for a future shoot.

10. Can we include pets?

Yes, absolutely! Pets are part of the family and are always welcome at home sessions, and they can be included at certain outdoor locations where it’s safe and allowed, just let me know in advance so we can plan the best spot for them.

11. Do you Photoshop your images?

I edit my photos to adjust the colour and lighting and try to keep edits true to life. I can do minor retouching to remove things that aren’t usually there like pimples or grazes.

12. Do you shoot anything other than motherhood and family?

Yes I do! I shoot engagements, elopements, weddings, births, solo sessions and more. I love shooting people and spaces so if it feels like the right fit and is something I am excited by then I would love to work together!
